What do you need to use a recycling centre?
To use the services of a recycling centre, you need to bring the necessary documents:
Proof of identity
When entering the recycling centre, you'll have to show your ID card or another proof of identity.
Proof of permanent residence in Prague
The recycling centre service is intended only for residents with permanent residence in Prague. Since 2018, however, the address of a district office is not considered permanent residence.
Entry restrictions
Entry to recycling centres is restricted to vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tonnes, so with a van you'll always be fine.
What can you drop off for free?
You can drop off a wide range of waste at a recycling centre completely free of charge. This includes, for example:
Bulky waste: furniture, carpets and textiles.
Electrical appliances: fridges, washing machines, televisions and small electrical waste.
Other materials: scrap metal, wood, construction rubble (in limited quantities).
Garden: green waste from garden maintenance.
Hazardous waste: such as thinners, paints or batteries.
What can't you drop off, or what is charged?
Some types of waste are not accepted, or their disposal is charged:
Waste not accepted: Mixed waste, asphalt roofing felt, Eternit building materials or materials containing asbestos, dead animals and nuclear waste.
Charged waste: Tyres are accepted for a fee according to the operator's price list, but they must be removed from the rim.
