The short answer: no, our vans stay in Czechia
The vehicles in our fleet are intended exclusively for use within the Czech Republic. Trips across the border are not permitted — regardless of the length of the rental or exactly where you would be going.
This isn't us being awkward; it's a consequence of how the whole service is built. It makes sense to know why, so you can decide with clear information before you book.
Insurance applies to Czech roads
The scope of the insurance and assistance services is tied to driving in the Czech Republic. If anything happened abroad — an accident, a breakdown, theft — sorting it out would be considerably more complicated and expensive, for both sides.
Assistance works within reach
When a vehicle breaks down, we deal with it ourselves and quickly. We know where our vans are and we can get help to them. That isn't the case for a vehicle stranded several hundred kilometres beyond the border.
The motorway vignette is Czech
All our vehicles have a valid Czech motorway vignette included in the rental price. Abroad you would need the local toll, which for vans above a certain weight is often handled differently than for cars.
What to do if you need to go abroad
Split the journey
The most common case is moving abroad. It pays to split it up: use our van to bring your things to one place, pack and prepare them, and leave the cross-border part to a carrier equipped for it.
Contact an international carrier
There are companies that do cross-border trips every day and have the paperwork and insurance for it. For a one-off move, the final price is often comparable to what you would pay for a long rental and fuel.
Plan for it in advance
The rule applies from the start of the rental, not just from the border. A booking with a trip abroad planned from the outset isn't something we would approve after the fact — so it's better to know this in advance rather than the day before you set off.
Where you can make full use of our vans
Within Czechia your mileage is unlimited. A trip from Prague to Šumava and back, clearing out a cottage at the other end of the country or a weekend trip — none of it costs extra and nobody counts your kilometres.
The vehicles come with a Czech motorway vignette included in the price, so you can drive on motorways without having to sort out anything extra. You can find a van by pick-up location in our fleet.
If you're not sure whether your plan fits the rules, write to us or call before you book. You'll find answers to other common questions in the FAQ section.
